About Us


Beatrice Nicholson

Beatrice Nicholson and Julia williamsBeatrice founded Bridie Productions on February 1st 2000. This is the festival day of St Bridget or Bridie as she was known in pagan times. Beatrice studied at Dartington College of Arts where she obtained a BA (Hons) in Theatre. She went on to train at The Desmond Jones School of Mime. After working as an actress for several years she decided to turn her focus to working with the ethnically diverse community where she lives in Tower Hamlets. She has since been inspired to produce many innovative projects and performances. She is now also studying part time on an MA course in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy.

Alex Somerville

Alex SomervilleAlex Somerville obtained a BA hons in Psychology he then went on to teach English as a foreign language in Brazil. He has been a professional storyteller since 2001. He learnt, and is still learning his craft telling stories in storytelling circles, primary schools, at parties, in galleries, in hospitals, and on the radio. He is also part of a men's group who explore a path of maturation for themselves in today's society through creativity and initiation. With Bridie Productions and the Rites of Passage Project he has been exploring such a path with teenagers in inner city schools.
